I believe in reading…a lot.

As a “baby” Christian I have gone head over feet into reading. I’ve found a few books on my own, but mostly I have read what my brother has been throwing at me, because he likes to read too! 🙂 I will add new books as I read them.

The number 1 book that should be on your reading list is the Holy Bible. It is your manual for living. Your “food” as a Christian. Everything else is just icing.

I suggest reading the Bible through several times in an easier translation. Reading it through in the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) or the New International Version (NIV) a few times makes it easier for when you hit the big time with the King James Version.

“The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning Is a special book in my opinion. So many days we get down on ourselves about choices and decisions we make. This book tells of the true love and grace God showers us in each new day of our lives. It is a “must read.”

“Anxious For Nothing” by Max Lucado is another “must read.” Max has a way of writing that just really speaks to my heart. I have never been disappointed in anything he’s written.

She catches a lot of negativity in some circles, but I’ve read many books by Joyce Meyer. “Living Beyond Your Feelings” is one of my favorites by her. As is, “The Battlefield of the Mind.” She is a confident woman who has overcome many horrible things in her life. Some think she is too agressive, but I think her “spitfire” attitude is just what I need somedays!

Keep Your Love On by Danny Silk has been especially helpful to me. It’s got great (real world!) advice about communication and connecting in close relationships. This has been helpful not only with my husband, but with my kids, siblings, and close friends.

Jesus Calling, Enjoying Peace In His Presence by Sarah Young is a 365 day devotional that I’m absolutely in LOVE with! Each morning I read this it helps me to get the day started on the right foot! This book is full of helpful info of His Peace, His Presence, and His Love.

Do you have any favorites you’d like me to read? Let me know by leaving a comment below. ❤
